Megan Burgess Torres
Owner/Trainer Megan Burgess Torres has been riding & competing in Hunter/Jumper for over 15 years in the Covington/Folsom area. She competed with the LSU Equestrian Team, and qualified in 2007 for Nationals in the IHSA's highest division, Open Equitation on the Flat, as well as competing in the prestigious Cacchione Cup. There she received 9th in the Open Equitation on the Flat, competing against the top Equitation riders in the country.
Megan graduated from LSU in 2010 with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Animal Science. It has been her childhood dream to own and train at her own barn.
She has competed all over the country with her jumper, On The Edge, an off the track thoroughbred she bought as a 4 year old and retrained. She has won many championships at A & AA shows as an amateur competing in the Child/Adult Jumpers. Her and her horse, Ryan (On The Edge) were LHJA Reserve Champion Junior Hunter in 2006, LHJA Reserve Champion High Schooling Jumper in 2008, LHJA Reserve Champion Modified 1.20m Jumper 2010, GCHJC Champion Modified 1.20m Jumpers 2010, GCHJC Champion High Schooling Jumpers 2010. In 2011 they were GCHJC, LJHA, & MHJA Modified (1.20m) Jumper Champion.
Chris met Megan in 2008 & had never been around horses before that time. Peepop belongs to Chris. He graduated from UNO with an accounting degree in 2011 & is in charge of the business end of EdgeBrook. He loves animals & has learned a great deal about hunter/jumper riding through working as a photographer at local horse shows for Burgess Photography.
